On Yer Bike

5 Problems you want to solve & why?
  • What is he information system for cyclists like right now and whats wrong with it?
  • Make way finding easier for tourists to make their way if getting around that little bit more simple.
  • To encourage more people (not just tourists) to get on their bike! If they can follow a more simple way finding system then its possible people will end up using it.
  • Still make street signs internationally expected and understood. It could be possible to create something that is not legible to the masses.
  • Reduce the carbon footprint for a greener planet.
5 Facts about the Subject & Content.
  • Bikes are becoming much more popular way of transport.
  • Bikes are much cheaper and have no carbon footprint.
  • Way finding with bikes isn't easy.
  • Street signs today are internationally accepted and understood.
  • Sat navs for bikes do exist but there are still problems with generally map reading in this field.
5 Facts about the briefs Audience.
  • They involve tourists, so think again about semiotics and international agreement
  • Its about cyclists! Obviously, these are the people who will be using the system.
  • The target audience will be cyclists of all shapes and sizes, so think again about legibility and agreement.
  • I must bring up tourists again as one of the FIVE. What languages will appear on this system? Does this system need a variety of different languages (Europe so to speak)
  • These people are cyclists and will be venerable to other road users. Make sure when following their directions they still have both eyes on the road.
5 Things I want to communicate.
  • A system which will be understood by many different people of different nationalities.
  • Just communicate to cyclists! Not other road users. This might case confusion.
  • Colour meaning different things. Colour as way finding.
  • How to get more people on their bikes through design.
  • Encourage a heather way of travel through a system which is easy to understand
5 End products
  • Leaflets warning and informing people about the new system.
  • An App store for smartphone that makes travel easier and more reachable.
  • Website all about the system (The official website).
  • Posters (INFO GRAPHICS).
  • Google map like webpage.
5 places this would be sold/ Content of Distribution.
  • Driving test center.
