I really enjoyed this brief as it gave me the chance to revisit the pro-verb brief which in my opinion I did terribly in. Although I didn't change the brief that much I can happily say that I did a much better job this time round. I was much more professional with my illustrations and my chose of colour and font. It was nice to finish this because it shows how much I have improved this year as a young designer. The envelope that I produced was quite random but I like the idea of it. It made it different, it reminded my of 'Don't Panic'. It was nice to print it in the print rooms too. The mock ups could have been handed in but its always better to print on to proper paper. The only problem I have is once folded the posters are quite hard to flatten out, but I guess thats what you expect from an envelope publication. Again this was an enjoyable brief that need to be done! The pro-verb brief has been upgraded.

STAMP IT!// Final Designs
I was in the end quite lucky to print these as well as this. Last night I waited around in the print room eager to print and luckily there was time for me to print 1 A3 matt and 1 A3 OF stickers. The vinyl cutter worked perfectly as well and I think that was my main worry. Rumour always as it that James is the only one who knows how to use it but the girl down stairs also knew, such a releif. I would say that I have been unorganised as thats probably what you thinking. Booking print slots has been extremely difficult over the past month and I fear that I won't get everything printed. Its seems slightly unfair that we are members of a college and can't even print! People are losing marks simply because they haven't been able to print? Seems very unfair. However I managed to print so I am happy. In terms of outcome I am happy. The mock ups I made were good as they let me know what size to print when doing my final designs.

Image Sequencing -Time lapse // Workshop
Pillar Boxing- Black space that runs vertically along side the video playing.
Letter Boxing- Black space that runs horizontally along side the video playing.
(usually appear when playing modern film on an old television)
Action
After going onto actions and going to 'New Action' and pressing 'Record' you will notice the record button will turn red from grey letting you know you are ready to go.
Batch
Check the 'Override action command'
the other check boxes are irrelevant for what we want to do.
the other override action 'Save As' check box will, if you don't check it, read through all the images and try and save all the images which takes to much time. Next is 2 Digit Serial Number. This will let you choose the folder you want to save your images into.
Errors- Leave as 'Stop For Errors'
Once all the images have been 'Batched' its time to go onto Quicktime Movie. Go to FILE and then OPEN IMAGE SEQUENCE.
It will ask you to select your image and then what frame per second you want to run with. The tutor suggested that the best to use is 6 FRAMES PER SECOND.
Quicktime will then play all the images together creating a timelapse. If you want to video to loop simply goto VIEW and press LOOP (command L)
By selecting LOOP BACK AND FORTH you can get the video to run back on its self so that it gives the effect of a longer video.
SAVING the video- Go to file and save, the two options are 'Save self contained' and 'Save as reference movie'
The problem with saving as self contained this is there are 100s of different types of video. If I go straight to save it will save it as some random file type
File export from QUICKTIME is easily the best way to save your video (export) properly.
Here is the video ^^

It's You Choice// Text, Stickers & Presentation Boards
The circles look quite nice but also make sense. They work with the two heads, they are symbolic. I'm not happy at the moment for this to be the final design for my TEXT poster. I still want to play around with diffrent styles and maybe colour. Then again if I change the colour it will go against the colours in the other posters and not work as a set.

It's Your Choice// Image
You can see from the first example that I have filled the white lines in simply using the paint brush tool. I has this idea to have this design not only as a poster but as the packaging design also. One thing that is quite visible about this is the heads don't perfectly line up but I reckon I am ok to leave it how it is. I want to try printing this out and making some 'Mock Up envelops. I think once I have achieved that I will have a good idea of how to fold the real thing.

Poster with Envelope template.
So I decided to print off 3 A3 Posters with the envelope template on it. Once I did that I discovered that it is so easy to create the envelope its self. I know what paper I want to print on to also so I think I am going to be ok with it! I'm not sure If I want to go on with the template because its very simple but then again I don't want to over complicate it all. I am tempted to have the stock as part of the colour and design on my final design. So the heads will just be black and the back ground will be brown.

Design Sheets
I decided to use the tablet to create my curvy lines as I was finding it hard to use the pen tool to create what I wanted
the Only problem I have with this at the moment is when I zoom in only slightly it becomes very pixelated. I blame this on photoshop because I am using pixels NOT vector. I worry that when I come to print they will be pixelated. Another thing I have to think about is what size they will be printed to. Before they where a very strange size.
FONT is something I need to consider too. I was thinking that these could be posters for an upcoming event. Maybe a day of bringing designers together to play with idea generation?
COLOUR is something I must think about too. I should play around and discover colours that work well together but most importantly the meaning.
I'm not sure about the eyes here.
'KING COOL'
From dafont
Here I have been playing around with different fonts. I really like the one above. It's called 'HAND OF CRE' and I found it on 'DAFONT.COM'. Question is does it work better than my original font? This font is a lot quiet than my original one thats for sure.
I'm really feeling the gray however it is quite a dull colour and thought process is colourful! Looking at the zero 7 reference on my design context blog I feel I should re-think the colour.
I'm going to come back to this because I feel like I've hit a wall. I'm going to concentrate on my other posters now and see what I can come up with. Here I have used 'Tommasso' from LostType.com
.............................................................................................................
For some reason during the making of this poster I ended up putting 'Minds' instead of 'Heads'. But, thats all sorted now and I have decided that this is the final design and I will go on to produce the rest of my designs like this- for example the same colours and text.
